To achieve the best results, it is recommended to soak the stone in water for a minute or two before use, and to allow it to air dry and store it dry when not in use. The Naniwa Chosera 3000 Grit stone is an ideal place in a sharpening progression, serving as a final stone for full mirror-polished sharpness on many knives and tools after higher medium grit and lower polishing grit sharpening stones (3K, 4K, 5K, 6K, 8K grit), and before progressing to further polishing stones and strops (12K+, 1 micron - 0.025 micron strops).
